  1. I applaud all teachers who have the courage to stand up and fight for their students, community and parents. A lot of parents have been misled to believe that testing is the only way of having students think. And this is totally incorrect. The U.S. has become the test capital of the world and cares more about supportng companies who profit from these tests. Closing down of Urban Public Schools to open up Charter Schools across this country and calling urban public schools failing is just another way in which the goverment is allowing companies to use our tax dollars to make money. I wish more urban public school teachers would stand up and fight like your teachers stood up. A lot of people are afraid of getting fired. We love our students but the support of the urban parents is not there. They don’t realize that testing is not the answer and neither is closing urban public scols for charter schools. Pray for the teachers in Camden, NJ, they are trying to close more public schools and open more charters schools for their friends. Parents in Camden, NJ are not aware of the fact that they need to work with the public schools and not sell their children to charters schools because they offer them a free nook, internet service, a laptop or fifty dollars a week to go towards their child’s college tuition.
